Sorry; I really, really wanted to have something positive to say about this movie. I know it was a labor of love for Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Michael Peña, and several others, but it’s just flat. It creeps and crawls, like the tanks themselves, and when it’s over, it’s just over. I didn’t cry, I wasn’t moved, it never compelled me. Apathy not being a trait typically engendered by war, this means that something went terribly wrong somewhere along the line. The little tank that could…didn’t, and that’s too bad. It should have been a really powerful tale. Maybe if Tom Hanks had produced it instead of David Ayer?
