An embarrassment to the franchise. Lame.
Apparently the bright thinking was: “Nothing says fresh and new like Opie directing Woody!”
And don’t get me started on Donald Glover. NO ONE should ever try to impersonate Billy Dee Williams.
Paul Bettany falls flat as a villain, and Emilia Clarke is as perfectly cast here as she was inhabiting Sarah Connor in 2015’s Terminator Genisys reboot, which is to say, not at all.
My petty grievances with the film are numerous, so I shall conclude by simply suggesting “they can do better,” and they really must if these little side stories are to add to rather than subtract from the canon.
